Marlo Poras (Producer, Director, Writer, Camera, Sound) worked as an apprentice and assistant editor on indie films such as: Ripe, Daytrippers, and Grace Of My Heart. While in Vietnam producing AIDS education videos for teenagers, a group of high school students about to embark on a year abroad in America captured Marlo's imagination and inspired her to make Mai's America, her first film.
